You’re obsessed with Mickey’s accountancy expenses. Are you his accountant and you’re bitter that he’s claimed for them and not paid you?

On the topic of the article. Conservative hold Lichfield.

I am talking about ‘ the right honouirable gentleman who claimed he was one of the lowest of the expenses abusers, not that he had misused his expenses. I am a little thief in a big bond!.

I don’t want to come across as a defender of the political establishment or indeed of a Tory MP but correct me if I’m wrong – It’s perfectly legitimate for an MP to claim accountancy expenses for having their tax return prepared. I admit this grieves me, I can’t get mine paid but it’s hardly a “Mickey issue” it’s systemic.

I’ll say this as well, and it gives me no pleasure at all saying this about a Tory. I went to the hustings and the only candidate who I would have any confidence in at all to represent me or to help me with a problem I might want to approach my MP about was Mickey. Politically I disagree with him about almost everything but he is a hard working MP who does what he can to promote the interests of his constituents.
