The Lichfield Festival has emphasised the support it gets from local business whilst announcing Harwoods Chartered Accountants is to continue their support.

Janet Harwood, Practice Development Manager, says: “We have always greatly enjoyed the Lichfield Festival and were very pleased to become more involved back in 2002 when we sponsored a concert by Onyx Brass.

“Since then we have supported Georgie Fame at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre, the fantastic Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and last year’s Opera Gala.

“We realise that a festival such as this doesn’t just ‘happen’, but relies on massive input from local people.”

So, what are the benefits for a local business such as Harwoods?

“Sponsoring a Festival event raises the profile of a business such as ours,” Janet replies. “It allows us to do some informal networking, while enjoying music of an exceptionally high standard.

“We especially enjoy concerts in Lichfield Cathedral and have chosen to sponsor the choir Ex Cathedra this year. We have been to many of their performances over the years, and the sound they produce is truly superb.”

Ex Cathedral are performing In Search of 1610 in Lichfield Cathedral at 7.30pm on Friday 16 July. Tickets are now on sale at www.lichfieldfestival.org or on 01543 412121.
