Burntwood schoolgirl reaches final of minibus competition

A Burntwood creative nine year-old has been shortlisted in a national competition to win a £30,000 minibus for her school.

Jade Kulik, who attends Springhill Primary School, was picked from more than 150 entrants to win the second round of Berol’s competition to win the 17-seater Ford Transit minibus.

She will join eight other lucky pupils in the final of the competition in December. She has also received £1,000 worth of Berol products for her school plus a £100 voucher to spend at Toys R Us.

The competition challenges primary and secondary school pupils to create a design for the exterior of the minibus that reflects the personality of their school.

Jade created a design boasting happy pupils holding hands to reflect the “close-knit, family orientated, bubbly and caring personality” of her primary school.

Her teacher, Kerri Carr, said:

“We are over the moon that we have got through to the final. We are also very proud of Jade and the other pupils that entered the competition. We have our fingers crossed that we will win the minibus in December. It would be extremely useful for us.”

The competition was launched in March and there is one winner per month until November. The entries will be placed on the Berol website and in December members of the public will be invited to vote for their favourite design. The most popular artwork will be recreated onto the minibus and the keys handed to the winning school.

To enter the competition, teachers need to download an entry form and design template at www.berol.co.uk. Alternatively, they can email website@berol.co.uk. Schools can enter as many times as they like until November 24, 2010.
