A voices-in-harmony group apppearing in this year’ Lichfield Proms in Beacon Park are looking for new recruits to swell their ranks for the forthcoming season.

Bella Musica! – popular with Proms audiences, are looking for extra members, from soprano to alto, tenor to baritone.

The popular free event is on September 4 and Bella Musica! will perform with the acclaimed British Police Symphony Orchestra.

This year the group’s major contribution will be The Carmen Suite, a special arrangement from Bizet’s Carmen. This piece will also form part of their own 2011 show A Night at the Opera.

Dianne Maxfield, publicist for the group, said:

“Come September we embark on a fabulous journey through a popular choice of opera. But don’t be scared, we’re not talking Pavarotti and Callas but a clever musical treat of favourites from Viennese Opera, Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta and the Paris Opera, plus a delicious dash of the Italian.

“Rehearsals for solos, duets and ensemble pieces for the new show will start in September and audiences can look forward to a glorious musical treat next year.

“Meanwhile members are most excited about the prospect of this brand new show and are inviting local singers to join them at their regular weekly rehearsals in Cannock.”
