Ram Stichards missed the chance to seal the title in the Lichfield Sunday six-a-side football league as they were beaten 3-1 by The Galacticos.

Norfolk took full advantage and kept alive their slender hopes with a 2-1 edging of already relegated Ice Pack. In division one FC Licho’s 2-1 win over Balboa’s Boys was enough to give them promotion.

Mean Machine’s 2-0 victory over Hexis FC Legends leaves them as odds on favourites to join Licho, although Gumtree FC are still in there swinging and beat Real Sosobad 4-1.

Things are tight in the Monday league, with leaders Monkeys Punk being held 1-1 by Family United FC, but second placed Boley Park Academy were unable to take advantage and only drew 1-1 themselves against Old Heads.

England Youth did win – 2-1 over Street Strikers – and the victory could prove crucial in their battle to avoid the drop.

There were more goals around in division one, with mid-table Banana Grove and lowly Dads Army both winning 3-0, against Six on Legs and Lichfield Unathletic respectively, while victories for leading duo Colin Lees Adopted Sons and Norfolk leave them sitting pretty.

Pathetic Athletic secured their first win in the Lichfield Tuesday league, as the odd goal in five was enough against Lichfield Crown. BD made it two in two, seeing off Bayern Neverlosin 2-0 and The Feathers join them on four points as they edged KED 2-1.
