Lichfield Leisure Leagues football round-up

With all the top title and relegation issues sorted in the Lichfield Sunday six-a-side league, all eyes were on the battle for second, Norfolk prevailed 3-0 against Galacticos who could have snatched the runners-up slot with a win of their own.

Champs Ram Stichards could have been forgiven for taking their foot of the pedal, but they managed to beat Bassetts Allsorts 3-2.

Gumtree couldn’t have done much more in division one, beating Mean Machine 5-3, but they still lost out on goal difference to their opponents in the promotion race, while FC Licho’s goalless draw with Real Sosobad was enough to give them the title.

England Youth certainly haven’t given up on survival in the Lichfield Monday league, as they beat Old Heads 4-2 but Street Strikers are just about holding onto their Premier status after a 3-0 cruise over mid-table Family United.

Banana Grove continued their fine form with a 5-1 dismissal of Lichfield Unathletic, but it might have come too late to see them force their way into the promotion spaces, as Norfolk and Colin Lees Adopted Sons still have an imposing lead.

BD lost their 100 per cent record in the Tuesday league after drawing 1-1 with KED, while Sporting crushed Bayern Neverlosin 5-0 to leave the latter still without a point.
