The work of a number of Lichfield photographers has gone on display.
The annual exhibition by members of Lichfield Camera Club is taking place at Chasewater Innovation Centre until August 1.
And to mark the opening of the event, Lichfield MP and honorary president of the Club, Michael Fabricant, was on hand to give out the prizes to winning photographers.
He said:
“The standard of work is very high and well worth a visit. I am very proud to be the Club’s President following on from the late Lord Lichfield who was my predecessor.
“There are some amazing wildlife shots including a herd of giraffe at the crack of dawn. But one of my favourite’s is a moody and misty shot of Gentleshaw churchyard in the snowy mid winter.”
The Club’s charman Clive Allerton added:
“All the images in the exhibition have been produced by members of the Club, whether on the latest hi-tech equipment, pocket camera, or on film. Michael presented trophies to members achieving success in the exhibition and in the merit standings accumulated in club competitions throughout the 2009/2010 club season.
“Notable among the trophies presented was the Michael Fabricant President’s Award for Advanced Digital Projected images, a new award this year, which went to Franco Kowalczyk. Among other awards was the Best Colour Print Winter Fog & Sun in Churchyard to Sarah Bradbury. It was taken at Gentleshaw.”
Irene Froy EFIAP MPAGB judged the competition.
