Staffordshire Police Authority has appointed a new Assistant Chief Constable.

Jane Sawyers will take on full-time responsibility for the areas of tactical support, forensics, force intelligence, counter terrorism, serious and organised crime, major investigations and public protection.

Staffordshire-born Mrs Sawyers joined the force in 1984 and has been in the role of Acting Assistant Chief Constable since June 2009

I am taking on this role at a time when Staffordshire Police faces difficult challenges in the years ahead. I am looking forward to working with colleagues to help meet those challenges.

“Staffordshire Police continues to keep our communities safe and reassured and I am thrilled to remain part of an organisation which drives my passion for policing.”
