Striker Grant Ryan has insisted Chasetown FC have nothing to fear when they meet Grimsby Town in the FA Trophy.

The Scholars will welcome the former Football League outfit tomorrow (January 15) in the biggest game since the club’s FA Cup third round clash with Cardiff in 2008.

Ryan was the FA Trophy hero after his injury-time winner in a replay against Kettering Town earned the plum tie for Chasetown.

And the former Mansfield striker believes the Scholars will now face a tough – but not impossible – task against the Mariners.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

“Grimsby will be no pushover after just being relegated from League Two and everyone knows that, but we have nothing to be afraid of.

“I feel we are more than capable of holding our own against a side a few leagues above us if we play with the heart, desire and never say die attitude that we did against Kettering.”

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 3pm at the Scholars Ground.
