Bats will be on the agenda at a walk around a Lichfield nature reserve.

Christian Fields will welcome a group, led by bat expert Chris Smith and Lichfield District Council’s countryside team, on June 4 from 8.30pm.

Participants will learn how to use a bat box and listen to their echo location calls as the bats forage for food.

Chris Walsh, Lichfield District Council’s biodiversity officer, said:

“We hope lots of people join us for this Bat Walk. It’s a good opportunity to see local bats and to find out more about them. If you do come along, please wrap up warm, wear sensible shoes and bring a torch.”

The Bat Walk costs £2.50 and can be paid on the day. The walk will set off from Christian Fields’ top car park. To reserve your place, call the countryside team on 01543 308183 or 308164 or email [email protected].
