England cricket selector to speak at charity lunch
England cricket selector Geoff Miller will be the guest speaker at a charity sporting lunch near Lichfield.
The former England cricketer spent twenty years on the professional circuit, representing Derbyshire and Essex, and visitors to the event at Drayton Manor will get to hear him lift the lid on his career in the sport.
The five-course sporting lunch takes place on December 5 and will raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, St Giles Hospice and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
As well as Geoff’s after-dinner speech, there will be entertainment from comedian Johnnie Casson, followed by an auction of sporting memorabilia.
Colin Bryan, managing director of Drayton Manor Theme Park, said: “This popular event has previously raised over £100,000 for a variety of worthy causes.
“I hope that this year’s event will be even more successful as every penny raised is invaluable and will go a long way towards helping others.
“Also, I can’t wait to hear Geoff Miller’s speech. As a former international and county player I bet he has some fantastic and humorous anecdotes.”
Individual tickets cost £60, while a table for ten is £550. Businesses can also sponsor a table for ten for £1,000, which will include bottles of wine and water, advertising space in the event program and advertising opportunities within the room itself or outside the building.
