Two free courses are being offered for people living in Lichfield and Burntwood.

Lichfield District Council and South Staffordshire College have teamed up for the training aimed at people who are aged 19 or over and do not have a full level two qualification (which is the equivalent of five GCSEs).

The first course, Budgeting Made Easy, is running on Mondays for four weeks, starting on November 14. The course tackles personal and household budgeting.

The second set of training sessions are an Introduction to Office Skills and will run on Tuesdays from November 15. It offers an introduction to working in an office environment and includes managing a workload, telephone manner, proof reading and filing systems.

Councillor Colin Greatorex, cabinet member for organisational development and community, said: “We are pleased to work in partnership to offer these two free courses.

“They are a great place to start if you are worried about your finances, or interested in working in an office environment.”

Both courses are at Hayes Meadow Primary School on Spode Avenue in Handsacre. To find out more, contact South Staffordshire College on 01827 304337. To book a free place on either of the courses call 0300 456 2424.
