Chasetown FC will be hoping results go their way as they bid to avoid the drop.
Chris Brindley’s men saw relegation rivals Stocksbridge Park Steels lose their game in hand as they were beaten 5-1 by Nantwich Town.
However, Frickley Athletic only managed a draw with a 2-2 win at Rushall Olympic.
Relegation rivals Whitby Town have a game in hand at Matlock Town on Thursday (April 19), knowing that victory would see them clear of the 20th placed Scholars.
While Chasetown currently occupy 19th – the final relegation spot – they could be saved as Northwich Victoria are set to be expelled from the league at the end of the season meaning that position would be good enough for survival. But Brindley’s side know they are likely to need a win at relegated Burscough on Saturday and hope that Stocksbridge, Frickley or Whitby slip-up.
