A Lichfield school has secured its best ever A-Level results.
All students at Nether Stowe school passed at least one A-Level or equivalent, with over 99 per cent being at least a grade C or above.
Headteacher Ruth Poppleton said: “These are brilliant results and the students can be thoroughly proud of their achievements.
“They have worked hard and been a great year group and really deserve this success. I am sure they would want me to pay tribute to the dedication and expertise of their teachers, who have helped them every step along the way and to their parents who have provided them with on-going support.”
The results mean that many students will now be able to take up their places at university. Tom Hood, who achieved two A* grades and an A, will be going to Christ Church College, Oxford to study chemistry.
“I’m thrilled with my results,” he said. “I never thought I’d get an A* in Further Maths, but I’m delighted to have done it.”
Louise Westoby – who got two A grades and an A* – is going to Newcastle to study civil engineering. She has also been awarded a scholarship from the M6 Toll group.
A number of other students gained the top grades including:
