A Leon Morgan strike wasn’t enough to prevent Lichfield City FC from suffering a home defeat against Atherstone Town.

Paul Holt’s men were undone by two goals from Greg Webb and another strike by Daniel Creaney.

The result leaves City tenth in the Midland Football Combination Premier Division, level on points with and sandwiched between Stafford Town and Alvis Sporting Club. They are one point adrift of eighth placed Littleton.

Lichfield will get the chance to haul their way into the top half when they travel to Alvis tomorrow evening (April 1), kick-off 7.45pm.
