Burntwood Town FC came out on the right side of a ten-goal thriller at Polesworth.

Dean Williams bagged four goals and Jonathan Letford two as they won 6-4 to record only their fourth league win of the season.

The result means that while Bill Aiton’s men remain one place off the foot of the Midland Football Combination Division Two, the gap between themselves and FC Stratford directly above them is now just five points, with Burntwood having played three games less.

Recording back-to-back victories will be a big ask as they entertain league leaders Kenilworth Town on Saturday (April 12). The game at Burntwood Leisure Centre kicks off at 3.07pm as part of a series of late starts across the country to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
