Theme park near Lichfield hoping to reclaim onesie world record

A theme park near Lichfield is hoping to reclaim a world record this weekend.

Visitors to Drayton Manor Theme Park are being urged to turn up on Saturday (April 12) in their onesies after their previous record of 700 – set in 2013 – was eclipsed.

They need to get 1,184 people in the night-time attire in order to reclaim the crown – and are offering a reduced £5 entry price in a bid to attract more guests.

The onesie world record attempt will take place at 10.15am – and will be followed at 10.30am by a second world record attempt for the longest scream by a crowd of people. That record is currently held by a group in California after 80 people screamed at a minimum of 80 decibels for two minutes and five seconds.

Drayton Manor’s CEO Colin Bryan said: “We’ve never dropped our prices this low but we really want to give something back to our visitors and encourage them to come along on the day and make history with us.

“Saturday really could be one of the best days we have ever had!”

The reduced entry price is available for people who arrive before 10.10am.
