Fundraising concert at the Lichfield Garrick hailed a success

A concert in Lichfield has been hailed a success after raising thousands for the Staffordshire Police Cadets scheme.

The British Police Symphony Orchestra appeared at the Garrick on Saturday (April 12), with a programme inlcuding Rossini’s William Tell Overture and Sibelius’ Finlandia.

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis was among the full house in the theatre as the money was raised to support the current cadet units and help to create more.

He said: “It was a tremendous evening with the British Police Symphony Orchestra in aid of Staffordshire’s wonderful police cadets.

“It was an extraordinary performance and was even better because it raised money for this cracking cause which is expanding the service and giving more young lives opportunities.

“Thanks to my Deputy Sue Arnold who has done an amazing job putting this event together and delivering the cadet service on my behalf.”
