Police name man killed in crash on the A38 near Lichfield

Police have named a man killed in a crash on the A38 near Lichfield.

Toby Preston died when a dark blue Rover hit a lamp-post on the southbound slip road at Alrewas at 8.35pm yesterday (April 27).

The 22-year-old, of Manor Fields, Alrewas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

PC Andy Talbot, investigating officer, said: “The collision happened at a time when the road would have been fairly busy and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle involved beforehand.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Talbot at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 682 of April 27.
