Lichfield golfers are being invited to tee off in a bid to win an all expenses paid Dubai trip and a £15,000 car.

The Glenmuir Invitational Amateur Open is coming to Aston Wood Golf Club on June 14.

The top prize will see one lucky golfer head to the Emirates Amateur Open on the Majlis Course in Dubai – the same course that hosts the prestigious Desert Classic. They will also receive as custom-fit set of Mizuno irons and golf bag.

The car will go to the first person to get a hole-in-one at the par three seventh hole and there will also be a host of other prizes including a £500 motorised golf trolley and a £300 Galvin Green waterproof suit up for grabs.

Tournament organiser and Aston Wood member Richard Chamberlain said: “These really are fantastic prizes and we are hoping to tempt some of the region’s top amateur’s to test themselves on what will be a very tough track.

“We are hoping golfers from throughout the Midlands, and possibly further afield, will be attracted to the event and we are looking forward to a superb day – both during the contest and afterwards at the prize-giving and barbecue.”

Entry is £30 for Aston Wood members, £40 non-members and the handicap limit is 18. The closing date for entries is June 6. For further details contact Club Pro Tim Regan on [email protected] or visit the website www.astonwoodgolfclub.co.uk.
