Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner has hailed a series of surgeries in Lichfield as a success.

Matthew Ellis visited local supermarkets last week to discuss issues with local people.

He also took part in a meeting at Lichfield District Council about issues such as Neighbourhood Watch, parking and police numbers, before hearing from domestic violence victims at the Pathway Project.

“It was a really good day in Lichfield,” he said. “I was heartened at the supermarket surgeries at Tesco and Waitrose that so many people already knew about the work we’re doing.

“There were also great meetings with local service workers and a big meeting on domestic violence which showed there’s still a lot of work to do in that area.

“Lichfield people came out in force and over 200 were spoken to or given information, which made it a thoroughly enjoyable day.”
