Police are hoping Lichfield commuters can help them identify three women they want to speak to after a purse was stolen.

A 38-year-old woman had her purse taken some time between 5pm and 5.30pm at Birmingham New Street at on Wednesday, April 16.

PC Tanya Dickinson said: “I am very keen to speak with the three girls pictured as I believe they will be able to greatly assist the investigation. If you recognise them, or have any other information that could help, please get in touch.

“We know that having a purse or wallet stolen can be incredibly infuriating for the victim. It’s not just a financial loss but also a personal one, with family photos, driving licences and other private items often kept inside.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference MSUB/B4 of 30/05/2014. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
