A Burntwood man’s summerhouse has been named as one of the best in Britain.
David Quinn came second out of 240 in the Dunster House Great British Garden Retreat competition.
Ian Blazeby, from organisers Dunster House, said: “David’s summerhouse really struck us as its design used strong flashes of colour in neutral setting to really bring the space alive.
“It was packed with design detail with a bright open feel. He is certainly a deserving winner who has put a lot of heart and soul into his design.”
David and his wife Susan assembled the summerhouse together and spent two weeks modifying, painting and furnishing it.
He said: “Receiving a prize for my summerhouse interior in this competition was a pleasant surprise, and I’m really proud that our designs have sparked the imagination of the judges.
“We bought the summerhouse inspired by some friends to fill an unloved space in the garden. It’s like a little haven for us and when we’re relaxing in it we feel like we could be anywhere. We love it.”
