Still time for women to join Solstice Walk fundraiser in Lichfield

Women are being urged to sprinkle some fairy dust to raise money for St Giles Hospice.

The annual Solstice Walk takes place through the streets of the city on Saturday night (June 21).

Last year’s event smashed a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of fancy-dress fairies in one place – and organisers are planning more of the same this time round when the walkers set off from 10pm.

Helen Relihan, head of fundraising for St Giles Hospice, said: “The Solstice Walk has become an annual fixture for many women who want to support the work of St Giles Hospice.

“After last year’s record-breaker, we are urging even more people to sign up to make this year’s walk another excellent event.”

The Solstice Walk is St Giles Hospice’s biggest single fundraising event and has raised more than £500,000 for hospice care since it was established in 2007.
