Tribute acts to take centre stage at Lichfield’s Fake Festival

Lichfield will be welcoming some of the country’s top tribute bands as the Fake Festival returns to Beacon Park.

Coldplace, Supreme Queen and Oasish will headline this year’s event on August 16.

But there will also be slots on the bill for local acts as Nuclear Minogue, Stubblemelt, Muse Inc, Tom Woodman and Marquis Drive join the action this time around.

“It’s really encouraging that Lichfield has some great artists to support our festival, but this makes choosing them difficult,” said Lee Storey, licence holder for Lichfield Fake Festival. “We have a rosta of bands that we know are extremely good and very professional, but we always like to look out for new talent too.

“We don’t just randomly pick a band, but we actually go to gigs to get an idea of how they would perform on our big stage, and also to assess their talent.”

There will be an added bonus for people who buy tickets to this year’s event, with a free ticket and free camping thrown in to The Big Fake Festival at Thoresby Park from September 5 to 7.

Early bird tickets to the Lichfield event – priced £15 for adults, £8 for youngsters aged ten to 18 or £38 for a family – are on sale from
