The former Fast Show star will lift the lid on his thriller series of books at the Lichfield Garrick at 2.30pm.

The George Hotel will play host to Intimate Theatre at 7.30pm as they perform Candida.

A spokesperson said: “Candida , the wife of a popular successful parson, is the ultimate woman, practical, independent of spirit, and possessed of all the beauty and charm a man could desire.

“But an impatient young poet, Marchbanks, declares his love for her and sets the household in turmoil.”

A musical flavour for the day comes at 8pm at the Lichfield Garrick in the shape of The Woohoo Review.

“They have forged their reputation throughout Australia as a festival favourite with their signature sound and an adrenalin-fuelled celebration fit for dancing, drinking, and ignoring tomorrow,” a spokesperson explained.

“Every song expresses a sense of occasion, transporting the listener to a rampaging after-party at a circus sideshow in a palatial ballroom.”

Meanwhile, The Sambuca Diaries will be at the Lichfield Guildhall at 1.30pm, with the Birmingham-based big band showcasing the best in jazz sounds.

Tickets can be booked by calling the box office on 01543 412121 or visiting the Lichfield Festival website.
