Lichfield City FC manager confirms decision to step down

Lichfield City FC manager Paul Holt has stepped down from his post.

He said the decision was due to “work commitments” and added that his assistant Simon Bell would take over.

In a statement, City chairman Darren Leaver paid tribute to Holt’s work.

“Everyone at Lichfield City FC would like to thank Paul for all the hard work that he has put in over the last four years as reserve team and first team manager,” he said.

“Paul has set a great foundation for us to push on and take the club forward.

“We are delighted that Paul is staying with the club and is joining the committee.”

Meanwhile, Lichfield are still unbeaten in the league after securing a 0-0 draw with Pelsall Villa before a Liam Holt rocket gave them a 1-0 triumph over Southam.

Holt’s goalscoring form continued with a double at Stafford Town in midweek as City won 4-2.

Their positive start will leave the side in high spirits as they head for Black Country Rangers in the club’s first ever FA Cup tie on Saturday.
