An historic pub near Lichfield has reopened its doors.
The Red Lion in Longdon Green has undergone a complete refurbishment and restoration, including the creation of a new garden room which is based on the footprint of a pre-war dance hall which was once adjacent to the pub.
New kitchens and service areas have also been built, a new terrace constructed and the gardens landscaped.
“We are a classic pub restaurant run by foodies,” said manager Chloe Turner. “Our menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery.
“As you might imagine, it is an extremely exciting time for us. We’re conscious of how lucky we are to have landed in such a beautiful part of the world, and I’m very much looking forward to being part of the local community.”
