A man has been taken to hospital after falling off a quad bike near Lichfield and knocking himself unconscious.

Ambulance crews were called to Longcroft Lane in Yoxall at 3.40pm yesterday (August 19).

A spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a 61-year-old man who was in a confused and agitated state after falling from his quad bike that reportedly tipped over.

“It is believed he was initially knocked unconscious for approximately five minutes in the incident and following assessment from paramedics he was treated on scene for an isolated head injury.

“He was then transported to University Hospital North Staffordshire. The nature of the incident meant the man’s injuries could have been much more serious and it is somewhat fortunate that they did not prove to be so.”
