Project for young people in Burntwood gets £11,500 funding boost

A project to provide more activities for young people in Burntwood has been boosted by an £11,540 grant.

The money will be used to buy new goals for the multi-use sports area at the town’s leisure centre, as well as increasing the amount of sessions on offer as part of the Positive Futures programme, including gymnastics, boxing and trampolining.

The award was made to Lichfield District Council from the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Proceeds of Crime Fund, which sees assets and money seized from criminals returned to local communities.

Councillor Andy Smith said: “We are delighted to have received the funding. We look forward to expanding the Positive Futures programme and encouraging more people across Burntwood to get involved.”

More information about Positive Futures can be found on Lichfield District Council’s website.
