Barton United secure cup victory on penalties

Barton United left it late to book their place in the next round of the Les James Challenge Cup after beating Leamington Hibernian on penalties.

Goals from Jonathan Douglas and Sean Wallis sent the game to spot kicks and Barton came out on top with a 5-4 triumph from 12 yards.

They will hope the result gives them the confidence to kick-start the Midland Football League Division Three season – starting tomorrow (August 25) with a home game against fellow early season strugglers Burntwood Town.
