Lichfield City FC hit for six by Highgate United

Lichfield City FC’s recent run of form came to an abrupt end as they were thumped by Highgate United.

Simon Bell’s side were unable to come up with any answers to Highgate’s attacking threat and found themselves 3-0 down before Ahmet Bilgimer threw them a lifeline.

But the hosts soon resumed normal service to make it 5-1 – and even found time to miss a number of chances.

Lichfield’s misery was compounded when goalkeeper Craig Johnson was forced off injured, forcing Zac Horrobin to don the gloves.

And the outfield player turned keeper could do nothing to keep out a Highgate penalty as they made it 6-1.
