People in Lichfield and Burntwood are being asked to help review the NHS 111 service.

The phone number was introduced for people to access medical information when it isn’t an emergency in a bid to prioritise patients using the 999 service.

It was launched in the Midlands last year and now health bosses are looking for people to help shape the service going forward.

A spokesperson said: “Volunteers are invited to join a locally organised event where they will be able to feedback their thoughts, ideas and opinions on the effectiveness and efficiency of the 111 service.

“Volunteers can be experienced users, or completely new to the service. Anybody interested in taking part in the focus groups will be invited to call through to a test call centre in advance so that they can experience the service first hand.

“This important work forms part of the development of the service in the West Midlands area and will assist the us to establish patient and public opinion moving forward.”

Anyone interested in joining the review can email or call 0121 612 3941.
