The Brownsfield Park side twice had early chances cleared off the line in the opening exchanges but weren’t able to make the crucial breakthrough until the 32nd minute when Tom Evans found the net.

Bolehall came out for the second half desperate to claw back their hosts and saw a one-on-one chance spurned.

It was to prove a costly miss as Martin Crawford doubled Lichfield’s advantage.

A Gavin Hurren goal on 67 minutes put clear daylight between the two sides as City took control.

Prolific striker Tony Clarke added his name to the scoresheet with ten minutes to play, before Swifts grabbed a consolation just before the end through a Craig Stevens penalty.

The result leaves Lichfield fourth in the Midland Football League Division One with a trip to struggling Heather St Johns up next on Saturday (November 7).
