Santa Claus will definitely be coming to town this year as Lichfield Round Table bring their Christmas sleigh to the streets once more.

The volunteers will make their first appearance at the Christmas lights switch-on on November 29.

They will then embark on a tour of Lichfield and Burntwood’s streets to help raise money for local charities and community groups.

A spokesperson for Lichfield Round Table said: “Each night Lichfield Round Table are joined by a local good cause to help escort Santa and knock on a few doors.

“We collected more than £13,500 for good causes last year.”

Details of the sleigh’s route are available online, while people will also be able to donate in new ways too.

“Santa has outsourced a techie Elf this year, and enabled donations by text message,” a spokesperson added. “To donate £3, people can text ‘LFRT15 £3’ to 70070. One hundred per cent of the money will go to the Lichfield Round Table Charity and be shared out with the local good causes helping on the routes.”

You had advertised that you would call in our Close on the 16th. You did send your collectors round but where was SANTA??? In all the 22 years i have lived here you have always come down our Close on Boley Park this year he did NOT come. You should not advertise Santa is coming then NOT turn up , you will break kids hearts. But you did send the people to collect the donation, they said he is on his way but NO. You have let your selves down big time. Other years heeven came when it was raining cats & dogs.

It’s really not that big a deal. Go to a grotto, there are plenty about and you get a present usually too.

Why complain here? You’d be better off getting in touch with the guys at RT directly, I’m sure there’s a decent reason why the street was missed.

    Hello Mike

We are really sorry that Santa didn’t make it down your street on the evening as hoped. The people knocking on your door should have made it clear to you that we were waiting at the top of each Close for kids to come and say hello. I know that doesn’t make up for your disappointment and can only comfort you with a sincere apology. Sorry.
