Plans for 157 new homes in Lichfield are approved

Plans for 157 new homes in Lichfield have been approved.

David Wilson Homes has earmarked land at Limburg Avenue for the new properties.

The developer hopes to create a number of one, two, three, four and five bedroom properties.

The company said the new properites would be a boost to the local area.

“It will protect and enhance the local environment by focusing development in a sustainable location,” a statement supporting the application said.

“The site is next to an exsting area of housing. It is located within walking distance of local services and facilities, including schools, shops and public transport.”

Full details of the proposals can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website, where the decision notice can also be found.

I’m not against the houses, but this:

“The site is next to an exsting area of housing. It is located within walking distance of local services and facilities, including schools, shops and public transport.”

What schools? Christchurch, which is bursting at the seams. Only shop is Waitrose, there are no convenience stores or Post Offices nearby.

The south side of Lichfield, especially in the region of Darwin Park desperately needs some local shop & services.
