A Lichfield photographer says business is taking off after he started using a drone for his work.

Mark Zaccaria purchased the equipment to give a new perspective on his clients.

He’s since gained a commercial drone flying license from the Civil Aviation Authority and has been in demand for work across the UK since – including its first role in wedding photography last month.

“I’ve been a photographer for over 15 years and this kind of technology really extends the boundaries of what images can easily be taken,” he said.

“Aerial images only used to be available if taken from a plane or helicopter. Now, my feet can stay firmly on the ground whilst I take HD video or still images, as the video downlink from the drone allows me to see exactly what it sees in real time, so I can adjust the position of the drone to get the particular shots I need.”

As well as traditional photography assignments, Mark and his flying assistant have also been helping to provide images for inspections and surveys.

“As the drone can fly in any direction, or use GPS positioning to hover in a precise spot, the perfect shot should never now be out of reach,” he said.

Mark’s work can be seen on his website.
