Merry Christmas from the LichfieldLive team

Merry Christmas to everyone from all of us at LichfieldLive.

Thanks to everyone for their support and contributions to the site over the past year, be it through submitting stories and pictures, commenting or sharing out content on social media – we really appreciate it.

This has been a great year for us as a volunteer-run site. We’ve won the Blogger of the Year title in the 2015 Midland Media Awards…even though we’re not sure we’re actually a blog!

But the real highlight has been seeing contributor Lewis Deakin land his first full-time journalism job on the back of his work with us. This is the sort of success we always envisaged the site might create when it first came to life almost seven years ago.

And with new contributors joining all the time – including our latest volunteer writer Eve Smallman – we hope there’ll be even more success in 2016.

Thanks also to some of our longstanding contributors who have been with us from the early days, such as Ann Mayo, Phil Preece, Paul Mullins, Ben Macnair and Rob Forsyth (along with the many others we could – and probably should – list!).

We hope all readers, contributors and generally interested observers have a fab festive period and an even better New Year.

Merry Christmas, one and all!

Well done guys, especially Ross, obviously, and his support for the young gun Lewis who made his mark during the election campaign. Your copy and pastable material has been invaluable. Merry Christmas.
