Lichfield Garrick’s Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime breaks box office records

More than 27,000 saw the Lichfield Garrick’s pantomime, the theatre has revealed.

Jack and the Beanstalk broke box office records during its four and a half week run.

But as well as the show’s curtain coming down for the final time, it will also be the end of the run for Ian Adams who has written and appeared in a number of pantomimes at the Garrick over the past decade.

Artistic director Tim Ford said: “We have had a fantastic Christmas this year and I am incredibly proud of the whole team – I thoroughly enjoyed making the show with Ian.

“We are truly grateful to him for all the hard work, energy and passion that he has given to the Lichfield Garrick over the last few years and he will be missed.

“However, I am delighted that we already have plans in place to ensure that Christmas 2016 will be another fantastic show.”

Tim confirmed that preparations were already underway for the 2016 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.
