Improvements to the number of missed rubbish bin collections will be made, according to a new Lichfield District Council report.

The local authority’s target is to miss less than 1.2 bins per 1,000 collected.

But figures to be reviewed at an overview and scrutiny meeting this week have revealed the 2015/16 figure is expected to be 1.5 missed bins per 1,000 collected.

The report said the impact of new rounds last autumn had pushed the number up.

“Performance will improve as crews get used to the new rounds,” the report said.
