Love will be in the air as a tour explores the romantic side of Lichfield.
Some of the city’s historical figures and their lovers will be explored as part of the 90-minute event.
Green Badge guides will talk about Patience Williams, a servant girl who married into the Swinfen family, as well as Mrs Thrale and an Italian musician, David Garrick and a Viennese opera singer, and George Farquhar and his scheming wife.
Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for tourism, said: “What better way to prepare for Valentine’s Day than to go on a walking tour of Lichfield to find out about interesting love stories from the past?”
The tour – costing £6.25 – takes place at 2pm on February 7 and finishes with a cream tea at Erasmus Darwin House. To book, visit Tourist Information at St Mary’s in the Market Square or call 01543 256611.
