Lichfield City FC were forced to settle for a point after a frustrating draw against struggling Pershore Town.

Gary Birch’s men had the best of the opening exchanges but struggled to carve out any clear cut chances.

Tom Evans went close to opening the scoring for Lichfield in the second half before former City man Jacob Snape spurned two good chances for Pershore.

In predictable fashion, prolific striker Tony Clarke was the man who eventually broke the deadlock when he netted midway therough the second period.

Clarke almost bagged a second before strike partner Dave Yonwin also saw a good chance go begging.

But despite their domination, Lichfield were made to pay for not making possession count as Pershore netted a leveller.

The result means City are now fourth in the table, eight points behind leaders Bromsgrove Sporting with a game in hand.
