Burntwood RUFC 3rds take centre stage with win over St Leonard’s

The lack of first team fixtures meant Matt Bray’s Burntwood RUFC 3rd XV were the top billing last weekend.

They entertained St Leonard’s 2nds and ran out 63-13 winners – a match notable for Rob Nightingale who scored a try with his first touch of the ball in his first game of senior rugby.

The debutant also added a second try shortly afterwards as the hosts totally dominated the first half before the visitors gained some reward in the second period.

Burntwood’s first team return to action with a trip to Edwardians this Saturday (March 5). The Colts also travel to Birmingham on Sunday to face Moseley.
