Two first half goals were enough to condemn Lichfield City FC to a midweek defeat against Bromsgrove Sporting.

Gary Birch’s men were hoping to throw a spanner in the works for their Midland Football League Division One title-chasing rivals, but things got off to the worst possible start with an own goal inside the first ten minutes.

A Will Tibbetts strike before the break gave Bromsgrove a cushion which they never looked likely to relinquish.

Lichfield will look to bounce straight back to winning ways when they travel to Pershore Town on Saturday (March 5).
