The funeral of Dennis Moodie, who served with the Royal Artillery, will take place on March 10.

Peter Lloyd, secretary of the Normandy Veterans Alliance, said he would be sorely missed by members of the forces community.

“Dennis was an active member of many associations including the Normandy Veterans Association, Market Garden Veterans Association and the Royal Warwickshire Regiment Association,” he said.

“He regularly travelled with the associations on the anniversary commemorations to Normandy, Holland, Belgium and Germany. His latest trip was to Normandy last September.

“Dennis was booked to go to Normandy in May and the Somme in July this year. He will be missed but I know he will be there with us in spirit.”

Dennis’ funeral will take place at Sutton Crematorium at 12.30pm on March 10 with a gathering afterwards at the Railway Pub in Shenstone.
