Appeal after trailer full of waste is dumped on the A38 near Lichfield

An appeal has been launched after a trailer packed with rubbish was dumped on the A38 near Lichfield.

In mid-December a trailer full of bailed waste and tyres was left in a layby on the A38, between Weeford and Bassets Pole.

Lichfield District Council has been investigating the case, along with Staffordshire County Council and the Environment Agency.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for waste services, said they were desperate to bring those responsible to justice.

“We are very keen to catch and prosecute the criminals that abandoned this trailer,” he said.

“If you saw the trailer being left at the layby or recognise it from the photo, please contact us so we can prosecute the culprits.

“We want to spend council tax money on the things people want, not cleaning up after those who can’t be bothered to dispose of their waste legally.”
