The duo have been touring and recording together since 1988 and have appeared at many important festivals such as Celtic Connections. They have also performed sell-out concerts across the globe, as well as winning the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Best Duo Award.

Lichfield Arts president, Brian Pretty, said: “Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain are both very well known names in traditional, roots and folk music circles.

“Their playing together is intuitive, whether playing a ballad or a more upbeat reel or jig.

“In the surroundings of the Cathedral this will be an unmissable concert for lovers of traditional Scottish music.

“The last time they played the Guildhall they sold out so I would suggest buying your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.”
