Musicians from across the country will converge on the city for the Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival later this year.

Lichfield Arts will host the event at the Guildhall, the George Hotel, Wade Street Church and other venues across the city from June 24 to 26.

Among the acts on show are the Matt Schofield Band, The Birmingham Jazz Orchestra, Steve Ajao’s Blues Giants, Rebecca Downes, the Nick Dewhurst Quintet and Kent Duchaine.

There will also be performances from the Callum Roxburgh Band, the Steve Waterman Quartet and the Tim Amann Xtet.

Festival organiser Brian Pretty said: “The 2016 Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival builds on the overwhelming success of last year’s event, offering some of the best international, national, and local musicians on your doorstep.

“As well as the quality music, we will have workshops to join in with, and entertainment throughout the weekend.
