Visitors to the Staffordshire Regiment Museum on Easter Monday will be sent back in time.

The Whittington attraction will bring life in the World War One trenches to life on March 28.

Visitors will get the chance to explore the trench system, which includes a regimental aid post where soldiers would have their wounds treated, a dug out complete with bunk beds, a tunnel where soldiers dug underground and a new German section of ‘the line’ complete with fortified pill box.

A spokesperson said: “Included in the tour is the chance to try on a uniform and a weapons handling session, plus full access to the Museum’s extraordinary collections, including a bugle that sounded the advance at The Somme – particularly poignant in this, the centenary year of the battle.”

Tours start at 10am with the last one taking place at 3pm. Entry is £5 adults, £4 children and concessions or £15 for a family ticket for two adults and three children.
