Lichfield City FC had a night to forget as they were thumped 4-0 by local rivals Bolehall Swifts.
The formbook went out of the window as Gary Birch’s high-fliers were downed by a Swifts side sitting just four spots off the bottom of the Midland Football League Division One.
City were given a taste of things to come as Adam Clarke found the net in the opening minutes.
Lichfield were then forced to clear one off the line, while striker Tony Clarke fluffed his lines to spurn a one-on-one at the other end.
Hurren also failed to find a leveller after blazing over from close range.
Keeper Ryan Moore pulled off a good save to ensure City were only a goal behind at the break.
A stubborn Swifts side were proving a tough nut to crack, but showed they were potent at the other end too with goals from Joseph Obi, Jordan Francis and Benn Minshull wrapping up an impressive derby victory.
Lichfield will look to for a better result as they entertain another struggling local rival in the shape of Pelsall Villa on Saturday (March 26).
